. . . because I have been looking through all my images to make this slide show. Since the Station is situated on the east side of the island the sunrises are spectacular. I have all these sunrise photos! It is such a pleasant aspect of a summer stay on the island to get up early (you just do), make a mug of tea, stumble out to a convenient patio or sidewalk and watch the sun come up. There are birds singing, seagulls calling, and usually something little rustling around in the underbrush close by. Except for those sounds, the soft lapping of the water and the wind through the treetops it is quite quiet and rather spiritual. What a lovely way to start the day.

Beaver Island is always on my mind . . .
